Project of the Week: GEICO Rides With the Soldiers, Federal Workers in Mind

This week’s Project of the Week is brought to you by one of GovLoop’s 2011 Major Partners, GEICO.

For the members of America’s armed forces and the U.S.’s federal workers, their service to the country is invaluable to taking care of the nation’s interests at home and abroad. As the Government Employees Insurance Company, GEICO has supported members of the military and federal workers, proving itself as an insurer that understands the importance of military and federal personnel.

“From the bottom of my heart, I truly appreciate everything that you do and I hope that I can come along on another ride and cross paths with everyone again,” said another Charlotte warrior. “I also hope that this experience can be shared by many other veterans!”

GEICO is also actively engaged in a number of similar supportive measures. For instance, this year GEICO has founded a new University of Maryland University College (UMUC) scholarship designed to assist spouses and children of federal workers and military service members. The scholarship provides for five $1,000 scholarships to students annually. GEICO is also partnering with Navy Federal Credit Union, the largest credit union in the world. With more than 3.5 million members from all branches of the military, GEICO has extended an additional discount to all Navy Federal Credit Union members.

Here’s a list of future Soldier Ride stops:
