The persistent challenges around cloud security are taking on a new sense of urgency. As agencies both scale their cloud operations and deploy a wider range of AI solutions, their IT environments are becoming increasingly complex. Using agentic AI, attackers can navigate that complexity to identify and exploit vulnerabilities at a pace that would have been unimaginable just a few years ago. Traditional security approaches can’t keep up.
To meet these challenges, the security operations center needs visibility into the entire IT environment. For example, when a vulnerability is uncovered, the SOC staff must quickly determine where the affected systems are deployed, who has access to them, and how they are connected with other resources on the network. They can’t waste time piecing together information from the various tools used by their own team, the cloud engineers, developers and the operations team, said Bryan Rosensteel, Head of Public Sector Product Marketing at Wiz.
“We can no longer have these disjointed silos based upon just who’s responsible for what,” he said. “Instead, we need a unified view of resources and, ultimately, of risk that extends from code all the way through the runtime environment.”
