Gary Gray, the Australian Special Minister of State, announced the release of data.gov.au 10 Mar 2011. This provides government information for commercial, research and community use. Data is provided by agencies including the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Geoscience Australia, the Bureau of Meteorology and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).
