PATCO, which provides rail service between Philadelphia (PA) and South New Jersey, is testing a contactless credit card that customers can use for fare payments and other purchases. To participate in the program, commuters can get a Wave and Pay Anywhere Visa card from PATCO and add value at a designated kiosk. For the first six months of the yearlong pilot, only PATCO’s Visa card will be accepted for fares and parking fees. Customers will be able to use any contactless credit or debit card during the second six months of the test. PATCO has partnered with Cubic Transportation Systems for the project.
