Metro Vancouver Transit Police Service (BC) blamed a hacker for a series of mysterious tweets that appeared on its Twitter page last week. The strange comments, which have since been deleted, included “Omg r u in a hospital. U should be. Really life on transit is not like u portray,” and “U r truly a confused person.” The tweets were apparently posted in response to comments from a local photographer who was frustrated after run-ins with the transit police. “Twitter is an essential tool in our social media communications tool box,” said inspector David Hansen in a statement. “We are a relatively new Twitter user, but we are committed to ensuring that the public can always rely on our Twitter site as one of a number of communications media we use.” The transit police posted an apology and are investigating the incident.
