Despite their clever names and appealing graphic design, transit smart cards do not exactly make a fashion statement. But a graduate of the Royal College of Art (UK) is about to change all that. Benjamin Parton has turned Transport for London’s Oyster card into a wearable and fully functional accessory. Called Oi, the card can be worn as a ring or a “watchstrap widget.” According to a post on Yanko Design, Oi uses the same radio-frequency coil infrastructure as the existing Oyster cards and can be bent and twisted without damaging the components.
