We use the Discovery Learning 360 in our public health leadership institute. While not an employee evaluation per se, it does incorporate individual learning and development plans into the process…

Do you know of any examples? I am starting a project that is looking to develop a KM system that can serve multiple community organizations, and would be interested in looking at current examples….

Hi John:
I am interested in your thoughts regarding the potential for transparency in payor data, and how this might be correlated with the financing and organization of clinical outcomes, as well as population health….seems like some sunlight on the insurance industry might be a good thing… -

Hi Theresa:
I work in academia as a Project Coordinator in a HRSA-funded public health training center (Univ of IL at Chicago). I am also involved in distance education and blended learning instructional design. Let me know if you’d like to email/chat about our mutual interests. A good book I recently read was “Digital Habitats,” by Etienne…[Read more] -

Hi Daniel:
I am interested in the same ideas applied to public health networks, which of course intersect directly with social service organizations. The new book by Etienne Wenger, “Digital Habitats” was very helpful for me in conceptualizing how the various social media might fit together in support of COPs. We are also working on a knowledge…[Read more] -

Hi Adam:
I’m so glad to learn about your work at CDC. I work at the Univ of Ill at the School of Public Health, Center for Public Health Practice as a Research Specialist and Coordinator for a CDC-funded regional leadership institute. I have worked in Indiana in local and state public health from 1988-2005, and as you know, our former Health…[Read more] -

I am involved in a new project that will be conceptualizing and implementing a knowledge management system over a network of local public health organizations. I am interested in any models of KM that are applied to community systems. One place I have started looking is at the Community Informatics Initiative, located at the University of Illinois.

Hi Michelle:
I work at a Center for Public Health Practice (Univ of IL-Chicago, School of Public Health), and we conduct training, workforce development and community projects related to public health and social services. Has this funding already been awarded? I would be interested in identifying potential partners in Illinois or Indiana. Thanks!

Hi:
My background is in public health, and I worked at the local and state level in Indiana for 17 years. I am now working at University of Illinois at Chicago in the School of Public Health, and am pursuing a DrPH. I work full time at the school at the Center for Public Health Practice, where we focus on workforce development and leadership…[Read more] -

I’d be interested in participating in this discussion. In my case, I am working on a project that is addressing KM across an inter-organizational, community-level network (local public health system).

It’s good to see representation from HHS! I am new to this forum, but would like to suggest that you consider the network of CDC-supported public health leadership institutes as one way to engage public health in this discussion.
