Joy Fulton replied to the topic Why should I care about Pinterest? in the forum Technology 8 years, 5 months ago
NASA does use Pinterest. Their use of it is interesting – one sees the pinterest “Pinit” logo on pages and underneath images.
Pinterest is a fascinating medium for those who believe that a picture is worth a thousand words. Perhaps that’s why it works so well for NASA – try to describe a galaxy 🙂 and you realize how empty words can be without…[Read more] -
Joy Fulton replied to the topic What is your biggest challenge implementing the customer service memo? in the forum RightNow for Gov 9 years, 5 months ago
Steve:
GSA, like many agencies, has many customers and stakeholders. Each audience might want something different from us and its hard to know what that is. We’ve been using the ACSI pop up survey to try to address comments that users make there. But the ACSI pop up survey is problematic and hard to use for this purpose. Less than 1% of our…[Read more] -

A wireless squeezebox “radio” (it can stream your itunes or internet radio stations) for the kitchen area.
Yesterday we set the presets for our favorite internet radio stations so we can listen to great music while we are preparing meals.
Its a great present so far.

I’m here. Quiet times like these are the best – traffic is light and phones are quiet. One can actually read reports and do some analysis and planning for the year ahead.

Hi there. I am Joy Fulton. I’ve been working as a managing web editor for GSA since July 2005.
I came up with some best practices for publishing events on the web, based on talking to the people on the ground at the actual event. You want to avoid people calling you the day of the event looking for directions. You want to post your event at least…[Read more]

Joy Fulton replied to the topic Expired Contest- What’s Your One Idea to Use Social Media to Improve Gov’t Operations. in the forum Miscellaneous 11 years, 5 months ago
I think that Wikis could be used within government agencies to create documentation for employes and contractors. Examples:
-the manager’s guide to how to hire a new employee
-orientation for new employees
-how to obtain an HSPD-12 card
-helpful tips for a particular building or location (cafeteria, vending machines, credit union, atm, parking,…[Read more] -
