    I find this super interesting – “They arenโ€™t learning a lot about a little, Gannett said. Instead, they are highly specialized in their consumption, whatever that may be.” You can’t be specialized in everything!

    I wholeheartedly agree with using “I” statements constantly. They sound so much less accusatory and show how it affects you personally.

    Also agreed that going over your boss’s head is never a good idea (except in the case of harassment, etc.). It’ll always come back to bite you when your manager thinks you don’t trust or respect them.

    These are such valid points and practical tips! I love the “Know Your Worth” section. I, too, find it helpful listing down how you have contributed to your organization, and then your confidence will build in yourself and you will know you deserve what you are asking for – which will show to your employer!

    I totally agree with you! I think that women could modify their language to better exude professionalism, if necessary, but to tell them to sound “less annoying” is just ridiculous. No one would critique a man’s tone of voice and tell him that. We rarely critique how men talk at all.
