We live in fascinating times. Today, technology is moving at an incredible rate and innovations are entering the marketplace at blazing speeds. It’s an exciting time to live in. We are living in a time when we are being freed from our intellectual limitations. Computers, robotics and dozens of emerging technologies are transforming our work and life, by processing data, automating tasks and providing us insights we never would have seen before, to inform our decision making.
One of the technologies that is deeply impacting the public sectors decision making process and leveraging data in new ways is geographic information systems (GIS). Over the course of this year, GovLoop and Esri have provided dozens of resources to provide you with the need to know information on GIS. In case you missed some of our resources, here’s a list of some of the top resources we’ve produced.
As always, if you have a great case study you’d like to share, a problem you’re working to solve, or just want to connect to share some ideas (please do, we love hearing from you at GovLoop!), reach out to me at [email protected]. Would love to learn and help you tell your story.

We’ve also got a guide coming out in the next few weeks. The report highlights a bunch of case studies, lessons learned and examples how GIS has transformed the public sector. We’re excited to launch the report, so stay tuned. I’ve been doing a series over the last few weeks highlighting our GovLoop resources, check out the other recaps here:
|When Esri was founded in 1969, it realized even then that geographic information system (GIS) technology could make a difference in society. GIS helps people to solve problems at local, regional, national, and global scales. Access maps and apps at ArcGIS.com. Be sure to check out all the GIS resources produced by Esri and GovLoop.|
