Flag Day Quiz: How Many State Flags Do You Know?

The first celebration of the U.S. Flag’s birthday was held in 1877 to commemorate the adoption of the “Stars and Stripes” as the official American flag. However, there are plenty more waving flags out there that we believe deserve recognition on this momentous day as well. So, in honor of Flag Day, we’re brushing up on our history with a closer look at the U.S. state flags.

Modern U.S. state flags date from the 1890s, with more added as the country expanded. Each one is highly unique – with distinct design principles, refelctions of local history, regional influences and even personal seals. The ability to recognize all 50 flags is a challenging feat, but one we want to see you conquer.
