In the changing government market, small businesses are becoming even more critical to enabling agencies to accomplish their missions. Yet despite new rules, regulations and goals, there still seems to be a disconnect between agencies and those small business.
What can be done to make the match between the two sides?
The government’s renewed interest in small businesses is the subject of this year’s Small Business Conference sponsored by the Industry Advisory Council and the American Council on Technology… ACT-IAC.
The conference will look at the strengths and weaknesses in the government-small business relationship and its impact on technological innovation, entrepreneurship and government efficiency.
Curt Anderson is the industry chair for SBC. He told Chris Dorobek on the DorobekINSIDER program that the SBC conference is especially important now.
Anderson says one tool that could really make a difference for small businesses wanting to deal with the government is business.usa.gov/. The site brings together all the information on small business contracting in one place.
Anderson says, “It all boils down to this. If small businesses buy better, deliver better and are more efficient, and they understand the requirements of working with government. Then government will want to work with small businesses because of the products they deliver not just to hit their small business contracting requirements.”
