Analysis: Cracking down on contracting cheats

President Barack Obama signed an executive order on Wednesday to crackdown on federal contractors who don’t pay their taxes.

It directs federal agency chiefs to take steps to bar those companies from receiving new government contracts.

It also orders the IRS to review contractor filings to make sure companies are not lying about the taxes they’ve paid.

Stan Soloway is president of the Professional Services Council and told the <<a href=”http://www.federalnewsradio.com/index.php?nid=18&sid=1553778″>http://www.federalnewsradio.com/index.php?nid=18&sid=1553778” target=”_blank”>Daily Debrief that no one should be surprised by the new order.

Charles Rossotti is a former IRS commissioner and currently a senior adviser at The Carlyle Group. He explained the changes on the Federal Drive.
