Call to Industry – join GSA to discuss the future vision of the Integrated Award Environment (IAE)

The Integrated Award Environment (IAE) constitutes a critical set of information systems that serve both industry and government as a consolidated platform supporting government-wide acquisitions. These include SAM, FedBizOps, FPDS-NG and others. Over the last year, GSA has invested significant effort and resources to stabilize, secure and continuously improve the new SAM system and program. We have also been working hard to develop a long term vision for the IAE suite of systems based on modern architecture principles. We would like to share our vision with the industry and start a dialogue.
Please join GSA’s Integrated Award Environment (IAE) for an interactive discussion on the path forward for the System for Award Management (SAM) and related IAE systems and programs.

Speakers to include:

Casey Coleman, Chief Information Officer, CIO, GSA

Kevin Youel Page, Assistant Commissioner, IAE, FAS, GSA

Sonny Hashmi, Deputy Chief Information Officer, GSA

10:00am-12:00pm on Wednesday, December 18th

GSA Auditorium at 1800 F Street, NW, Washington, DC 20006

Background: IAE and SAM are used by nearly 35,000 contracting professionals and over 500,000 entities including the federal government, grantees, small and large businesses, financial institutions, mortgage companies and more.
The SAM initiative is designed to transition the multiple, stove-piped IAE applications to an integrated workforce tool set for awards management across government. IAE is re-focusing its approach to achieving this by embracing 21st century architectures, agile development and user-centric design approaches to create a transparent, secure, efficient, and accessible environment.

Session Details: This kick-off session will focus on the IAE vision and architectural principles. A series of follow on industry sessions are planned for early 2014 around other related issues, including open data, API strategies, target architecture, and user experience.
