Sunday night we went to our younger son’s house to listen to three folk singers who had been invited by his fiancée to play for family and friends. Our son and his fiancée provided refreshments and we provided the appreciation and applause. The music was very good. I also enjoyed chatting with my son’s future mother-in-law and her sister in the back yard during the intermission. We discussed the upcoming wedding of our children and what we might wear, including the possibility of weaving flowers in my hair (sounds like the lyrics of a 1960’s song, doesn’t it?). Sitting in the living room, listening to original folk music, felt like sitting in a coffee house in the 60’s. We were charmed.
