Daily Dose: Watch Out! What’s Coming at Us in 2011?

Enough of the looking back! It’s time to set our sights on what awaits in 2011.

And it’s shaping up to be a earth-shaking year in government. Here are the issues where Ed O’Keefe has fixed his keen Federal Eye in 2011:

10 things to watch across government in 2011

Here are a couple of the issues that caught my attention:

  • Will President Obama order 5% spending cuts? Will the House propose deeper cuts?
The president ordered agencies and departments to develop plans to make cuts, but hasn’t made them official…In the new Congress, Republicans promise to fight for spending cuts…how much priority will they give to cutting and will they want to go further than Obama?
  • How does the federal worker pay freeze impact the rank and file…and federal hiring reform?
Will a two-year freeze on federal pay lead to mass retirements or low morale? Will the pay freeze make moot the administration’s efforts to reform how the government recruit and retains workers?
Read the rest of Ed’s key 2011 issues here.

So what about you?

What are the issues you’re watching closely in 2011?

Eager to get your thoughts…
