Strategies for Modernizing the Grant Lifecycle

For state and local governments that rely on grants to fund essential programs, securing and administering grants has become increasingly complex. In addition to volatility in available opportunities, they are dealing with shifting application requirements, including more stringent accountability, reporting and performance demands. All of this means that agencies must become more agile, but that’s difficult when they are burdened with outmoded tools and processes.

Modernizing grants administration isn’t easy. But by standardizing systems and automating manual processes, agencies can harness their grant data to gain insight into performance, spending and compliance, making it possible to prevent underspending, reduce audit risk and improve long-term planning. Technology can also streamline grant-seeking, so applications are on-target and check all the compliance boxes.

“Agencies that can adapt to these new dynamics are more likely to succeed in this increasingly competitive environment,” said Adam Roth, Vice President, Partnerships and Government Relations at Euna Solutions.“We see lots of areas of growth in federal funding … but there’s also a lot of more pressure on the accountability side in terms of how you’re trying to manage these funds moving forward,” he said.

In this video interview, Roth and Ryan Alcorn, Principal, AI Strategy at Euna Solutions, discuss how agencies can manage the full grant lifecycle more effectively to support and expand their mission. Topics include:

  • The current outlook for grant availability and oversight
  • Tips for overcoming challenges in grant administration
  • How better administration can help recipients be more successful
