As the Toronto Star reported, the Toronto Transit Commission (ON) is moving toward adopting the regional PRESTO card. “We need to move people out of their cars and onto transit. And to do that, we need to make transit as convenient as possible,” said Ontario transportation minister Kathleen Wynne. “Part of doing that is not to have three different tickets if you’re moving from a Mississauga bus, to the GO train, to the TTC.” Funding is still an obstacle, and Metrolinx (ON) president Bruce McCuaig says that officials will have to use “some creativity” to close a projected $160 million gap.
