Guest Buzzer February 19: Mark Stotik

Greetings – I will be the Guest Buzzer for February 19 while the Wyatt’s take a well deserved break (I assume) in an undisclosed sunny location. Welcome to my introductory post – a test of sorts to see if I have the skills to do this in the future.

I am the Labor and Employee Relations Manager for Clackamas County. I graduated from American University in Washington DC with a BA in International Studies and received a J.D. from the Emory University School of Law. My most recent academic achievement is completing a Graduate Certificate in Public Management from Portland State University. I also had the privilege of being selected for the Clackamas County Leadership Academy 2011 – 2012.

My work life has been varied. I held the toughest job one can love as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay from 1989 -1991. Additionally, I have worked as a law clerk, a staff attorney for legal aid, as a director for a workers rights center, as Director of Representation for SEIU Local 1107 in Las Vegas, and as a staff attorney for the Association of Flight Attendants – CWA.

In terms of personal interests, I enjoy reading, traveling (20 countries so far and plan to add two more this year), my cat and of course the New Orleans Saints (unjustly maligned over the last year).

I hope to see you at an ELGL event.

Ralph
