Meet Code for America 2013

It’s official.

We’ve selected our fellows and government partners for the 2013 Fellowship Program. The applicants for each were incredible and whittling it down to these 10 governments and 29 fellows was a feet. (And we encourage all fellows and government applicants who we were unable to accept into the program this year to consider applying for a slot in the 2014 program.)

We decided to try something new this year: counties. Although we’ve worked with cities that we’re also counties in the past (City and County of Honolulu, City and County of Philadelphia) this is the first time we’ll work exclusively with a county. We’re excited about the impact we can have at the county level.

Next year brings us another first. We’ll be working with two cities on a single project. Kansas City, Kan. and Kansas City, Mo. teamed up and submitted a collective application. We’ll be working with these cities on a single project next year. We’re proud to not only work with these two cities, but that these municipal leaders are pushing forward the idea that governments can and should collaborate — and that the common challenges these cities face, can be resolved by a common solution.

So, without further ado, here they are.

2013 GOVERNMENT PARTNERS: 8 Cities / 2 Counties / 9 projects

2013 FELLOWS: 29 Individuals / 11 Months
