The Women’s and Fair Practices Departments of the American Federation of Government Employees will again host the Human Rights Training Conference in 2011. This year’s conference will prove to be the best one yet!! We will be holding the conference in beautiful downtown Atlanta, Georgia, from August 8 – 11, 2011.

Along with a spectacular training, the city of Atlanta offers the best aquarium in the country (Georgia Aquarium), Olympic Park, Martin Luther King’s historical site, the Children’s Art Museum, Six Flags and much more. The theme for this year’s conference should resonate with all government employees’…“AFGE…Under Attack”.

The Human Rights Training Conference has always offered the best instructors, the latest information, and the cooperative environment for networking with fellow union activists. This year, we will be offering ten of our most popular classes with two brand new ones for the seasoned activist. The classes being offered are all designed to help our new and veteran activists be successful in the fight we have before us. Our returning featured training classes will include all levels of EEO training, Collective Bargaining training, WFP Coordinator training, New Leaders training, Work Life Training, Diversity Training and Conflict Resolution. The new classes that will be featured at this year’s conference are “EEO – Pre-Trial Skills for the Federal Sector EEOC Administrative Process” and “Advanced Coordinator Training”.

In addition to four days of training, this year’s registration will include a Welcome reception, continental breakfast in your classroom every day, a plenary luncheon, and each participant receives conference materials, a bag, a t-shirt and additional trinkets. If you purchase tickets for the Evening Banquet, it will include dancing, dinner and two free drinks!

On-time registration for this great conference ends July 1, 2011. You have two options to register (1) fill out a registration online at http://www.afge.org/hrt or (2) mail in a paper registration. The preferred method of registration is online.
