Reinhard Mohn Prize 2011: Vitalizing democracy through participation

Democracy – the core of our modern society – is facing significant challenges.

With the upcoming Reinhard Mohn Prize 2011, the Bertelsmann Stiftung – a German Foundation – will therefore focus on the crucial topic of “Vitalizing Democracy through Participation”. The 2011 Reinhard Mohn prize carries a value of Euro 150.000 and will be awarded to exemplary projects or structural measures initiated by governments which distinguish themselves in their support for democracy and political participation.

The site will be open for applications through August 22, 2010. Registered users will be able to rate and comment on the projects that have been submitted.

The prize will be awarded to the most outstanding project in June 2011 in Gütersloh, Germany.
