Second Littoral Combat Ship Delivered to the U.S. Navy

An Independence variant littoral combat ship named the Coronado was delivered to the U.S. Navy on September 27.

It is the second littoral ship to be delivered to the Navy and was constructed by General Dynamics Bath Iron Works, General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems and Austal, who all attended the delivery ceremony.

There are currently four other ships under construction at Austal which use 1,146 suppliers located in 32 different states across the U.S.

In total, the Navy have ordered 12 littoral ships to be constructed.
