Agentic AI has the potential to push the bounds of automation. With its dynamic and goal-oriented capabilities, agentic AI can automate tasks that, until now, could only be done manually. But that’s not to say that agentic AI should become the go-to solution for digital workflows. Traditional automation, with its reliance on predefined rules and structured processes, is better at providing strong governance, auditability and compliance that are essential to many government operations and services. But how can agencies manage this complexity?
The key is to approach agentic and traditional automation not as an either-or proposition but as a blended solution. Once agencies determine which approach makes sense for each task, they can leverage a business orchestration platform to create a seamless, end-to-end process. “This approach makes it possible to take full advantage of agentic AI without putting data or services at risk,” said Niranjan Vijayaragavan, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Nintex.
