Secure and Modernize Legacy IT through Cloud-Based Systems with Infosys and AWS

This blog post was written in partnership with AWS.

“Modern IT infrastructure is the backbone of better digital service delivery,” has said the Honourable Scott Brison, President of the Treasury Board of Canada. “Responding quickly to the changing needs of Canadians while constantly improving Government of Canada services requires new, agile, cloud-based solutions.”

It’s clear that Canada is looking forward to the cloud for the future of its public services.

In fact, in 2011 to better meet this vision, the majority of IT infrastructure was consolidated under the management of a single organization: Shared Services Canada (SSC). SSC delivers infrastructure services related to email, data centers, telecommunications, and workplace technology devices for 43 federal agencies. Currently, SSC operates approximately 700 data centers running roughly 14,000 applications across the Canadian government.

SSC recently announced the awarding of multiple contracts to six partners of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network for access to AWS cloud services. The AWS Partner Network (APN) is a global partner program that focuses on helping organizations build a successful AWS-based business by providing business, technical, marketing, and go-to-market support.

One of the partners awarded an SSC contract for AWS Cloud Services is Infosys. Infosys leverages cross-industry insights, pre-built solutions, proven and flexible execution and linking of strategy to investments to help public sector organizations move into the future while renewing existing systems and processes through modernization.

Infosys is an APN Premier Consulting Partner with AWS Competencies in both Migration and Financial Services. Infosys is also a member of the APN Managed Service Provider (MSP) Program and the AWS Public Sector Partner Program.

Infosys uses AWS to host a suite of technologies that help enterprise customers securely and swiftly adopt cloud-based systems. “We have been engaging very closely with multiple stakeholders within our customers… about the value of working with AWS,” said Moses Mathuram, AVP, Global Alliances Infosys, in an interview with Diginomica. “I think that our announcement of AWS support goes a long way towards that because you know we have to work from a position of trust.”

Infosys’ automation- and knowledge-centric migration approach ensures zero disruption during migration, native development or legacy modernization on AWS platforms. With this approach, Infosys helps clients simplify achieve drastic savings in managing application lifecycle on the AWS Cloud.
