DC’s Best Fourth of July Activities

Unsurprisingly, our nation’s capital has a wealth of activities celebrating Independence Day. So many, in fact, that the real problem for those of us in the DC area might be making up our kinds on what to do. 1. National Independence Day Parade

This parade starts at 11:45 am and runs until 2 pm, so you’ve got plenty of time to catch some or all of it. The route is along Constitution Avenue from 7^th street to 17^th street. Click here to visit the official parade website.

2. Fireworks on the National Mall

3. National Building Museum Summer Block Party

4. Get Out of the City

Crowds and temperatures in the 90’s? Consider leaving the city for the fresh air and tranquility of nature. Harper’s Ferry National Park in West Virginia is only an hour away, and Maryland’s Great Falls is even closer.
