An Open Letter to President Obama: Change the Lens

I wanted to share a letter with the GovLoop Community written by one of our partners and featured change agents, Ken Miller, author of We Don’t Make Widgets: Overcoming the Myths that Keep Government from Radically Improving. The letter was published by Governing Magazine last month. I look forward to hearing your feedback on the focus areas he talks about for the next administration.

The 3 Themes of the Letter

1. Focus on the systems of government, not the people
2. Focus on actually improving performance
3. Engage the hearts and minds of the people who are part of the system to improve the system

If you are interested in learning more about these concepts, we are holding our next We Don’t Make Widgets Academy with Ken at The National Academy of Public Administration. For more information please email me at [email protected] or call 703-286-7900. You can also find more information about the Center for Radical Improvement at www.c4ri.org.

Please feel free to join our group on GovLoop for some interesting discussion!
