Luke McCormack, a former chief information officer for the Department of Homeland Security‘s Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, has been nominated to return to DHS as its CIO.
He held the CIO role at ICE between 2005 and 2012 and has served as the Justice Department‘s CIO for one year, the White House announced Thursday.
McCormack’s government career also includes service as acting director of the Customs and Border Protection agency’s infrastructure service division for one year before joining ICE.
He joined CBP in 1999 as director of systems engineering and held that role for three years before serving as director of architecture and engineering for one year.
Before entering government service, he worked at companies such as MCI and Ford Aerospace.
