GPO turns 150 – Check out our special series!

The Government Printing Office turned 150 years old this year. Did you know, GPO actually opened the day President Lincoln was inaugurated?

Federal News Radio has put together a cool multimedia series looking at GPO’s history. Web editor and fellow GovLooper Jolie Lee was responsible for the project and it turned out great!

Definitely be sure to check out the audio slideshow from inside GPO’s printing plant. And, we created an interactive historical timeline of the biggest events in GPO’s past using Dipity. And, we’ve got two photo galleries – some cool, black-and-white photos from back in the day and the other from inside a new GPO exhibit opening today at headquarters. We also created a graphic that depicts how the Congressional Record is created each day.

Check out the full series and let us know what you think! Enjoy!
