Greener Computing recently published an article about what to expect from the green IT sector in 2011. Of course specific predictions are difficult, but the graph at right shows you where Greener Computing and Forrester Research think the green IT sector is at the moment.
As you can see, if past cycles continue into the future, we’re at the beginning of a (hopefully) exciting period of product expansion. Combine this predicted expansion in product offerings with the anticipated rise in the prices of many forms of energy, in particular oil, and this year could be an exciting one for green IT and the building managers who will certainly be looking for new, innovative products to save energy and cut costs.
