Society of American Indian Government Employees 2011 Youth Track

Every year at our National Training Program, SAIGE funds two to three dozen native college students to participate in the conference. 2011 class consisted of 42 students, thanks to sponsorship by the EPA and the Navy. SAIGE provides them a full day of leadership training, and they also receive job skills workshops and listen to inspiring speakers just for youth. They are integrated into the overall program and attend a Career Fair in the middle of the week. We are always awed by the best and brightest that Indian Country has to offer, and we hope that by bringing them to SAIGE we will create a welcoming and supportive environment, and get them thinking about careers in government.
