Meet the new Executive Director for IBM’s Center for the Business of Government — Biggest Challenges

For the last 14 years, the IBM Center for The Business of Government has worked to bring external research and leadership perspectives to causes and potential solutions for hard problems facing the public sector.

Dan Chenok has recently taken over as the executive director for the center of business of government at IBM.

He replaces the retiring Jonathan Breul. So what does he have in store?

He told Chris Dorobek on the DorobekINSIDER program what exactly the IBM center of business of government is.
Chenok’s 3 Biggest Challenges:

  1. Learning how to enable management improvements. Like the Government Performance and Results Act that was recently implemented by OMB.
  2. Evolving with the quick pact of technology. Cloud computing means we are no longer disconnected. You have to be able to harness the innovation and then apply in a way that helps the government move forward. Need to make sure its a different mode of technology not just an updated data center.
  3. Bring together communities of practice. Need to form groups across government agencies and divisions to leverage the power of the collective.
