“AVATAR” DIRECTOR JAMES CAMERON TO DISCUSS CLIMATE CHANGE, ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ON AFGE RADIO SHOW

Historic AFGE Membership Increase also to be Addressed on “Inside Government”

WASHINGTON—“Avatar” Director James Cameron, Office of Personnel Management Director John Berry, and Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) will be featured this week on the American Federation of Government Employees’ (AFGE) “Inside Government” radio show. The show will air on Friday, April 30 at 10 a.m. ET nationwide on Federal News Radio at www.federalnewsradio.com and 1500 AM in the Washington, D.C., area.
Cameron, who recently visited Capitol Hill to discuss the threat of climate change, will share his thoughts on U.S. environmental policy and his role in the climate change debate. Berry then will discuss the need for strong labor/management relations in the federal government, while Warner will address the valuable work of federal employees.
But first, listeners will hear from AFGE Membership and Organization Director Sharon Pinnock, who will detail AFGE’s significant membership growth – a number that now tops 250,000. Pinnock also will provide an update on AFGE’s fight to secure collective bargaining rights for Transportation Security Officers.
Hooks Book Events President Perry Pidgeon Hooks will discuss her work promoting authors Lee Woodruff, Muhammad Yunus, and former U.S. Comptroller General David Walker.
Lastly, First Command Financial Advisor Bob Hill will highlight strategies federal employees can implement to help secure their financial futures.
