CFCNCA Passes the 50% Mark for the 2009 Campaign

As of noon today, the Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA) has raised over $33 million and is now over halfway to their 2009 goal of $64 million.

The Combined Federal Campaign is the only authorized workplace charitable giving drive for employees in the Federal workplace. CFCNCA is the local campaign for Federal employees in the Washington Metropolitan Area and is the largest workplace giving campaign in the world.

The annual fundraising campaign helps support a variety of health, human, and other services provided by local, national, and international charitable agencies. This single campaign is one of the most cost-efficient fundraising methods available. It succeeds because volunteers from the Federal workforce combine their resources for one coordinated appeal.

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has extended this year's campaign until January 15, 2010, so there is still time to donate to your favorite charities through the CFCNCA. The extension was based upon CFCNCA's request which noted delayed campaign starts by key Federal Departments and Agencies representing approximately 30 percent of the donors in the CFCNCA as the reason for extending past the regulatory mandated solicitation period.

This extension is only applicable to the CFCNCA and those Departments/Agencies that are located within the CFCNCA geographic boundaries. It does not extend to regional or field offices located in other campaign geographic areas.

Employee Express (EEX) will run until midnight on January 2, 2010. Donors will be able to use the other e-Giving options until midnight January 15, 2010 to make a contribution to the charities of their choice.
