GovLoop’s Bureaucrat on Sports – AP Top 25 NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision – Ohio State – Michigan Week (and other picks)

The rich tradition, the power, the suspense… yes, it’s Virginia Tech vs. Duke week… the Hokies will be Runnin’ with the Devil!!

Oh yeah, it’s Ohio State/Michigan week, too, GovLoopers!!! Friends, relatives, spouses, boyfriends, girlfriends, etc. will war with each other this week!!

What do we want to do? We want to make some picks…. remember, you can get financial aid for postsecondary education. But you must apply!!

1.) University of Michigan at #10 The Ohio State University – I’m sure that many (The) Ohio State University Buckeye fans would like to Bomb Ann Arbor Now!!

This is a serious rivaly!!

But, Michigan is seriously going to get pounded. The game will not be close like prior years. Ohio State wins… and big!!

2.) #17 Michigan State University at #7 Penn State University – Nittany Lions, win this game, and you are in the Rose Bowl. The Hokie Guru has Penn State victorious in this game; they will stop the Spartans running game and will be playing in Pasdena on New Year’s Day. Might be a good time for Joe Paterno to step down (especially if his son, Jay, the brains behind the Penn State offense, goes to Toledo). But who will Penn State be playing in the Rose Bowl? The answer is in pick #3 below…

3.) #21 Oregon State University at University of Arizona – Oregon State University controls its own destiny. If the Beavers win out, the will likely be in the Rose Bowl with Penn State. Penn State throttled the Beavers earlier this year at Beaver Stadium. How cool is that? The Nittany Lions drilled the Beavers at Beaver Stadium. Sorry (sarcasm), back to the game at hand… Oregon State and Arizona are ranked 17 and 25, respectively, in total defense. Arizona Head Caoch, Mike Stoops, has to save his job by winning this game. Mike, the Hokie Guru thinks you’ll be coaching along side your borther in, Bob, in Oklahoma next season. Oregon State wins setting up the Dodge Civil War with the University of Oregon.

4.) #20 University of Pittsburgh at #19 University of Cincinnati – Welcome to the single most important game in the history of University of Cincinnati football. Bearcat fans plan a redout and the game is sold out. Not too much pressure, right? Win this game, Bearcats, and you will be in the Orange Bowl, likely playing the Virginia Tech Hokies or the Boston College Eagles. Can the Bearcats stop the Pitt Panther running game? That is the key to this game. The Hokie Guru thinks that Bearcats have have just enough in the tank and win a close one.

5.) #2 Texas Tech at #5 University of Oklahoma – All eyes will be on Norman on Saturday night for a killer offensive matchup. Will anyone play defense at all in this game? Terry Bowden thinks that Bob Stoops has to step up and be a big game coach. The Hokie Guru thinks he will; Oklahoma wins. But he would not be surprised by a Tejas (Tayhaas) Tech win because they seem to have a big win every week.

That’s it!! Have a great week!!

That’s what I’m talking about. Good games again. Is Texas Tech for real? Can Cincy hold on? I feel lucky that I’m flying up to Ohio today for a big Ohio day.
