Green Facilities Renovations Beneift Walter Reed, Other Federal Buildings

Federal Times recently published an article that highlights a few nice examples of green building public-private partnerships. A few of the examples include:

  • HVAC renovations at 32 California military commissaries
  • replacing taxiway lights with LEDs at NASA’s Ames Research Center
  • HVAC, system automation, solar installations, and weatherization improvements at 39 GSA-owned facilities in Texas, Arkansas and New Mexico

The article continues to list other green building projects that have benefited from public-private partnership of some kind. While public-private partnerships aren’t new, the article caught our attention because of the many different types of partnerships described. A federal employee or private employee will be able to scroll through the article and find a variety of types of projects, energy efficiency solutions, and partnership models to see them to completion.
