MPA Research Survey on Public Sector CMS & Social Media

Please consider taking this survey on website content management systems and social media which I am conducting for independent study as part of my MPA culminating experience/thesis research as a second year graduate student at the University of Memphis in the Division of Public and Nonprofit Administration.

My research focus is exploring the impact on the public sector from the evolution of Web 2.0 tools. As a greater percentage of the population expects greater transparency online as well as two-way communication from the public sector, expectations for social media integration have increased for public communicators and website managers. The survey is designed to uncover policies and website management tools that help/hinder the ability of public organizations to interact with clients/constituents.

Survey respondents must be over age 18 and directly involved in the management of their government agency’s or organization’s website and/or social media sites. The survey link may also be forwarded to the appropriate person(s) at the organization as needed.

The survey should take about 15 minutes to complete, can be abandoned at any time and will be kept anonymous. Results from the survey will be used in an MPA graduate research project and will be published online and possibly in other forms. The results will be published in Spring 2012 by the Institute for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership.
