Dr. Jane Lubchenco is a marine ecologist and environmental scientist who is the first woman administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). In this role, she manages nearly 13,000 employees who are working to understand and predict changes in the Earth’s environment, from the depths of the ocean to the surface of the sun, and to conserve and manage our coastal and marine resources. Previously, Lubchenco spent more than three decades teaching at Oregon State and Harvard Universities
