Anne Rung: GSA Office Supplies Contract Vehicle Saved $200M

A General Services Administration procurement vehicle for office supplies has saved the agency $200 million and supported small contracting businesses.

GSA Chief Acquisition Officer Anne Rung announced the number during the Small Business Administration’s National Small Business Week Phoenix and Procurement Awards ceremony in Washington, the agency said Friday.

Small contractors won 13 of 15 office supply blanket purchase agreements through the federal strategic sourcing initiative.

The agency also created a market pricing model that works to help contractors negotiate prices, a system GSA estimates to generate more than $12 million in incremental direct savings.

More than 20 military and civilian agencies have joined the FSSI program and the GSA aims to launch 10 new sourcing programs by the end of fiscal year 2014.
