Congratulations to GovDelivery Europe Clients on Their Digital Leaders 100 Awards

At GovDelivery, our main goal is to help you do your work as government communicators better, and we’re consistently impressed at just how good that work turns out to be. We’re always incredibly proud our clients, so when one is officially recognised with an award nomination by an outside organisation we can’t help but contribute to the congratulations!

This week, we’re excited that not one, but two GovDelivery Europe clients have been nominated for Digital by Default’s 2014 Digital Leaders 100 awards, which “recognise the top 100 individuals, organisations, and products making a real difference in the world of citizen-facing eServices”. The categories for this year’s awards included: Elected Member/Public Representative, Central Government Official, Local Government Official, NGO, Start-up, SME, Industry, Digital Inclusion Product or Service, Education Product or Service, and Health Product or Service.

Our biggest congratulations go out to Sarah Lay and Lorna Perry, who were both nominated for the Digital Leaders 100 Award under the category of Local Government Official.

Sarah is the Senior Digital Officer at Nottinghamshire County Council and Communications and Community Management Lead for LocalGov Digital, a practitioner network “aiming to raise digital aspiration and delivery in the sector.” Lorna is the Digital Services and Innovations Development Manager at Shropshire Council, where her social media smarts have been especially powerful and important due to recent flooding and bad weather in the area.

Both women were recognised for their innovative use of digital communications and social media in government work, and for their significant contribution to the growth of the government digital communicators community.

If you’re interested in seeing Sarah in action, check out this webinar she did with GovDelivery earlier this year along with her colleague Martin Done: “Digital Communications and the Brand Journey at Nottinghamshire County Council”. The webinar covers the Council’s journey through a rebrand and explains how digital communications became an integral part of their marketing strategy.

Congratulations again to Sarah and Lorna on their nominations, and to the rest of our clients on your ongoing successes. Keep up the impactful work you do for your citizens and communities!
