Open Government on the Internet – May 15th at the LBJ School of Public Affairs

I have registered for this event and look forward to the speakers and discussions. However, I noticed on the registration page at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/328228741, that the Presidential Memorandum on FOIA was referenced, but not the January 21 Directive on “Open and Transparent Government”

See http://tinyurl.com/trans21

Will the May 15 event focus on FOIA or the broader area of Transparency, Participation and Collaboration that is the subject of so much discussion, planning and action in the online communities like:

GovLoop – OpenGov (http://tinyurl.com/govloop21)
Collaboration Project (http://tinyurl.com/collab21)
Sunlight Foundation – Open Government List (http://tinyurl.com/oogl21)
Web Manager’s Conference April 28-29 (http://tinyurl.com/usa21)
and others.

While many of our communities and conferences have a tendency to duplicate efforts with meetings and discussions, I believe that this initiative requires full court press. Please look into this event if you can…
