Social Media for Government – Online Class

Have you heard that there is a class focused just on social media use in government agencies (as well as a discussion of e-government in general) that will be held online in January? It is through the University of California in San Diego (UCSD) and will run over 6 weeks from January until the end of February. The cost is $250.

The students will answer the question, “How can social media and crowd sourcing technologies apply to the daily operation of government?” Social media is one of the public sector’s best tools for engaging citizens, promoting community services, demystifying bureaucracy, sharing expertise, and building support for public good. One of the unique activities of the class is that the students will be creating and posting updates on their own GovLoop blogs!

Hi CJ. I see this class was canceled? That’s too bad. I just saw your post about it. Any chance it will be revived later?
