I ran across this today. Apparently VistA is being taken into the classroom at George Mason University. It certainly makes sense to use VistA in the educational setting: no licensing fees, students can download and run their own private version of the VOE appliance to practice their lessons on, and the price is certainly right.
This is a disturbing trend. Whenever, I get a chance I encourage those I meet and know to obtain higher education, as well as maintain and upgrade their skills. The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has launched its first official Twitter channel @USDAFoodSafety (www.twitter.com/USDAFoodSafety). FSIS will provide food safety education and information to followers.
